Info! Chinese firm building a mix of BlackBerry and Windows Phone
Microsoft says that it’s committed to improving the software side of Windows 10 Mobile, while working with partners on building devices running this operating system, and while big names do not rush to adopt the platform, smaller companies from Asia seem to be very interested in doing this.

This is the case of Chinese company KEYEVER AO, who is building a brand-new Windows phone that seems to mix Windows 10 with an approach that’s mostly the signature of BlackBerry, a company that more or less experiences the same struggle as Microsoft in the mobile industry.

The company has announced (not released) a candybar phone that boasts a 3.5-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 540x960 pixels and touch support and which would come together with a physical keyboard. The photos that the company already provided show a typical numeric keyboard, but it turns out that there are plans to launch a version with a QWERTY keyboard as well.

Possible tech specs

The device would be powered by a Qualcomm 600-series Snapdragon processor and include a 3,000 mAh battery that should provide at least one day of battery live. The Chinese company wants to keep it as affordable as possible, so it should sell for a price of approximately $155.

At first glance, this phone reminds at some level of BlackBerry OS-powered devices, such as the Q10, which came with a touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard as well. In this case, however, the phone featured a 3.1-inch display and was powered by a Snapdragon S4 processor.

For the moment, the Windows 10 Mobile phone developed by KEYEVER is still in the works and some things could change before the public launch, as it’s the case of the camera (this is the reason why it’s blurred in the press renders that you see in the gallery).

There’s no release date for the moment, but the Chinese firm said that the plan is to bring it to the market as soon as possible, so more information should surface in the coming months.
