Samsung is one of the few companies that haven't said anything about Android 7.0 Nougat updates for its phones, with the exception of the Galaxy S7/S7 edge devices, which will certainly receive the update in the coming weeks.However, rumors coming from sources close to Samsung claim the South Korean company has Android 7.0 Nougat updates in the pipeline for a couple of other smartphones and tablets, including the Galaxy S6/S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2.
Obviously, we don't know when exactly these updates will arrive, but we do know they won't be available at least until Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge get the update first.
As you've probably noticed from the list above, there are no mid-range smartphones expected to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update, which might have worried many Samsung fans out there.
Although companies like Samsung make a lot of money selling high-end smartphones, it's the mid-range and low-end devices that make the bulk of their sales.
That being said, it looks like Samsung might have reconsidered and is now readying Android 7.0 Nougat for a range of mid-range smartphones.
According to SamMobile, Samsung plans to deliver Nougat updates to all Galaxy A (2016) series phones, but that will most likely happen next year.
The Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A9 and Galaxy A9 Pro are some of the smartphones that might be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat by the end of next year.On the other hand, the Galaxy A (2017) series devices, which haven't been unveiled yet by Samsung, might get the update slightly earlier since they will be newer than their predecessors. The first Galaxy A (2017) phones are expected to be announced this month and they might even go on sale in time for the holiday shopping season.
