The TV app gets more improvements for iTunes 12.5
Apple seeded today the fifth and probably the last Beta development release of the upcoming iOS 10.2 update of the mobile operating system used in iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices.The Beta 5 release comes only four days after the fourth Beta build, but it looks like only iOS 10.2 received the update, as Apple is yet to seed Beta 5 versions of its soon-to-be-released macOS Sierra 10.12.2, watchOS 3.1.1, and tvOS 10.1 operating system, as well as the Xcode 8.2 IDE for application developers.
Tagged as build 14C89, iOS 10.2 Beta 5 is also available for public beta testers and adds a couple more improvements to the recently introduced TV app, such as the ability to sync the library content with iTunes 12.5 through 12.5.3 without it being deleted, and improves iPod touch support by fixing a crash and the "TV is unavailable" issue.
iOS 10.2 should be released in mid-December 2016
If you plan on installing this fifth Beta release of iOS 10.2 on your registered devices, there are a few quirks you should know about. For starters, the TV app cannot be restored after it is deleted. Moreover, the newly introduced SOS functionality is only supported in India.
It also looks like the Automatic Assessment Configuration (AAC) functionality now prevents using the Universal Clipboard feature during an assessment. iOS 10.2 Beta 5 and Public Beta 5 are now available from your Apple Developer account or via OTA (Over-the-Air) update system.
As you can see from the attached screenshot, it's a small update of only 59.2 MB on our iPhone 6 device. We strongly recommend that you install iOS 10.2 Beta 5 or Public Beta 5 if you're using the fourth Beta release or a previous one. However, please try to keep in mind that this is still a pre-release version and some bugs might be present.
